No, that void isn’t closing, and things haven’t changed.
But those tears brought me to a new level of desperation.
I would that I could change others, even slightly, but my hopes always lead me to trouble.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve tried explaining how wondrous the human experience is: in our ability to communicate, thrive, love and suffer equally; our chemical, psychological and outer makeup, all of these constitute a human being that is entirely unique in physique, in manner and in character. In all of these things we are miraculous— we are composed of an insurmountable amount of atoms that comprise elements, molecules, proteins, cells, which aggregate together to stitch us all together into a coherent, sentiment being.
But you don’t see the world the way I see it, and my pleas fall on deaf ears.
For us, I would hope you would lift your gaze for once and take my words in.
For you, more than for myself.
